Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a traditional Japanese healing practice that channels life-force energy (Rei meaning "universal" and Ki meaning "vital energy") to support the body, mind, and spirit in returning to a state of natural balance and harmony. It is a gentle yet powerful technique that promotes deep rest, emotional release, and energetic alignment. At its core, Reiki is based on the understanding that everything in the universe—including our bodies—is made of energy. When this energy becomes blocked or stagnant due to stress, emotional turmoil, trauma, or illness, we can experience discomfort, fatigue, or a general sense of disconnection. Reiki helps clear these blockages, allowing energy to flow freely and restoring a sense of wholeness.
Unlike massage or other physical therapies, Reiki does not involve manipulation of the muscles or tissues. Instead, the practitioner acts as a conduit for healing energy, gently placing their hands either lightly on or just above the body, allowing the energy to be drawn to where it's needed most. Each session is intuitively guided, deeply individual, and supportive of your unique healing journey.

Each person's experience is unique, and Reiki always works for the highest good of the receiver—whether that’s physical relaxation, emotional healing, spiritual insight, or simply space to rest and be held.
Open to your discretion, there is also the option to include the use of tuning forks and sound. Tuning forks emit sound frequencies, each frequency acts like a sonic "tuning" of the body’s biofield, helping to clear emotional residue, energetic congestion, and mental fog. When used alongside Reiki, they can help to quickly locate and dissolve energetic blockages, encouraging a smoother flow of life-force energy throughout the system.
Although each person’s experience is individual to them, below are some things commonly described by people during a session. Please also be aware that the same person’s experience may vary from session to session. All that is encouraged of you is to be open and receptive.

What can be described as “light for the soul,” Reiki can help release stored emotions, ease emotional overwhelm, and clear stagnant energy from the body.
By supporting the natural flow of life-force energy (ki or prana), Reiki helps bring harmony to the subtle energy body—balancing chakras, grounding excess energy, and nourishing depleted areas. This energetic alignment can lead to greater clarity, vitality, and inner stability.
Reiki invites a deeper sense of connection—with your own intuition and inner wisdom but also connection with a greater source. Everyone’s experience is totally unique to them, it is however often described as touching into a profound stillness and presence.
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy healing practice that supports the body’s natural ability to relax, restore, and rebalance. Originating from Japan, Reiki translates to “universal life force energy” and is typically offered through light touch or with the hands hovering just above the body.
You’ll remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a massage table or seated if preferred. I will gently place my hands on or just above various points on your body. You may feel warmth, tingling, emotional, or simply a deep sense of calm. Every experience is unique and led by what your body and energy are ready to receive. What are the benefits of Reiki?
Not at all. Reiki is not tied to any belief system or religion, and it can benefit anyone—regardless of spiritual background. Many people who are new or even sceptical experience a shift in how they feel after a session. Openness and willingness to receive are more important than belief.
Wear something comfortable and arrive with an open mind. You don’t need to do anything in particular—just allow yourself the space to rest and receive. Avoid stimulants such as caffeine, beforehand.
Most people leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more at peace. You might feel emotional, tired, energised, or even dreamy. These are all normal responses to energy work. Drink plenty of water and take some time to integrate the effects of your session.
This depends on what you’re seeking support with. Some people feel significant shifts after one session, while others benefit from regular treatments to support ongoing healing, emotional wellbeing, or spiritual growth. We’ll discuss your needs and go at a pace that feels right for you.
Yes, beautifully so. Reiki pairs well with massage, yoga, meditation, and talking therapies. It offers gentle energetic support that can complement physical or emotional healing practices.
